I Saw You On The Way To Church Today
by William Leslie 2004
As I
sped by, I saw you on my way to church today.
There you were dirty in tattered clothes,
huddled near an open flame to fight off the morning cold.
How pitiful I thought, someone should help.
Down the road I went and I saw you on my way to church today.
Old and infirmed, you struggled to cross the busy street.
How sad I thought someone should help.
I saw you also on my way to church today,
small, lost and hungry. Tears stained your face,
and yet no one would help you find your way.
Surly someone will come to your aid I thought.
At church, I rushed to my pew,
I saw you there too, I could see you had a need,
A nod I thought you sought.
And then the Glory of God filled the sanctuary,
and a voice spoke to my spirit within.
The Lord said, I saw you on the way to church today,
and only a glance you gave.

The Church on Prayer Mountain
High atop a beautiful hill,
In the heart of the Lone Star State,
Stands a lovely little church called Mountain Creek
Truly God's earthly estate.
It sets among the rocks and trees
On acres of glorious land
Where the members have started to build
Only the beginning of what God has planned.
From the moment you turn onto Prayer Mt. Road
There are those who will tell you they feel,
The peace of the Lord overcome their soul
As they wind their way up the hill.
The view overlooks a beautiful lake
That shimmers in the sunlight below
And the view is even more spectacular
At night with the lights all aglow.
Mountain Creek is a Spirit filled church
Where many have experienced a rebirth
Where the gifts of the Holy Spirit abound
And the fruits of its ministry span the earth.
The Shepherds appointed over this flock
Are a Godly man and wife,
Who have struggled and survived obstacles
That would send most running for their life.
For those of us who are called to this place
It is truly a family we've found
And we know in our heart of hearts
That Mountain Creek stands on Holy Ground.

The Value of a Man
Written by Jon Greig
"When you love you walk on water, just don't stumble on the waves. We all want to go there something awful, but to stand here it takes some grace." -- Rich Mullins
what is the value of a man
when a man is tested
how will his heart be found
is a man valued because of love or is it faith
please tell me if you know
what makes a man right
is it if he works hard
if he is honest in speech
and guileless in his heart
what is most precious about a man
is it in the way his wife looks to him
behind the face of a man
is there a treasure that can be found
can his heart be made of pure gold
what is the value of a man
please tell me if you know
is a man born to heartache
is pain his destiny
joy comes for a moment
he lives his life in remembrance of it
longing for the good old days once again
love is a treasure
he seeks it with all the strength he has
but it leaves his heart broken
he wonders if he'll ever be whole again
is a man born to tremble
is he destined to struggle with failure
his lips speak of wonders
and he dreams such great dreams
but his path is cluttered with mistakes
he clings helplessly to grace
he reaches for his savior
and finds his heart filled with devotion
so he gazes across deep waters
and makes vows of service to his king
still he stumbles in the darkness
barely he escapes violent battles
with unseen demons
is a man born for such violence
to crave and fume with rage
or is there peace for a man
grace found in the midst of pain
for every man there is sadness
and there is joy
and there is weakness and strength
there is work and satisfaction
there is a time of testing
and a time of affirmation
there is healing for every man
and then he must face pain
for every man there is a furnace
to determine the value of his life
for every man there is praise
and every man must conquer his pride
for every man there is a savior
in him is mercy and forgiveness
there is hope and faith
there is peace and love
for every man there is a home in heaven
if he is willing to receive this
there is a glory
that will never fade
